About this guide
Last reviewed · verify live park facts with Explore Parks WA / DBCA
nambungnationalpark.com.au is an independent, unofficial visitor guide. We help people plan the Pinnacles Desert, Lake Thetis, beaches, itineraries, stays and tours in and around Nambung National Park, WA — with a practical focus on Perth day-trip realism, loop vehicle rules, and honest “1–3 hours on the desert” decision-making.
We are not the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), Parks and Wildlife Service, the Western Australian Government, Tourism WA, or Yued Traditional Owner organisations unless explicitly stated.
We recognise and acknowledge Yued people as the Traditional Owners of Nambung National Park. This site does not speak for Traditional Owner groups or for DBCA. We don’t write cultural stories or ceremonial detail. Prefer official acknowledgment wording from appropriate authorities when citing Country in formal contexts.

Help people plan Nambung / Pinnacles days honestly — loop vehicle rules, no in-park camping, heat and dieback, and a realistic 1–3 hours on the desert — while funding free guides through clearly disclosed ads and affiliates. Park fees, Parks Passes and official Park Stay bookings are never affiliated.
What this site is (and is not)
This is a long-form, park-specific planning guide: area pages, trail notes, printable itineraries, and original articles written for real Perth day trips and Cervantes stays. It is not a booking engine, not a live alerts board, and not a copy of a brochure. We write what to skip, when to turn around, and why you cannot camp in the park — then point you to Explore Parks WA / DBCA for live status.
Related original guides on this site include how the Pinnacles formed, Lake Thetis stromatolites, photographing the Pinnacles, and visiting Yued Country. Start with Plan your visit if you want the planning notes first.
How we work (accuracy policy)
We work from Explore Parks WA / DBCA, Trails WA and the official visitor guide, then write the day-trip decisions people actually need. We don’t list live track status or treat fee tables as forever-current. Dollar figures and hours are planning figures marked [VERIFY] against live official pages.
- Distances, grades, fees and open/closed status must be verified on official Explore Parks WA pages before you travel. We don’t list live closures here.
- Site-wide content review date: . Articles and visit/trail pages may carry their own reviewed dates. It is written from official Explore Parks WA / DBCA sources and published visitor notes — not a claim that we walked every track on a given date.
- This site does not publish a public contact email — see Contact for official park channels and site expectations.

Advertising & affiliates
The site may display advertising and affiliate links (stays, tours, gear) to fund free content. Disclosures appear on relevant pages and in the affiliate disclosure. Park fees, Parks Passes and official DBCA / Park Stay bookings are never affiliated.
National Parks Guide Australia network
This is one deep park guide (Nambung / Pinnacles) in the National Parks Guide Australia network of independent visitor guides. The visitor-facing hub is nationalparksguide.com.au — browse the directory and how the network works. The publisher remains Farming Domains.

Nambung sits on hub collections for coastal parks, first-timer-friendly 2WD days from Perth, and how long you actually need — not a remote 4WD gorge trip or an overnight campground (there is no camping in this park).
